We study how inertia affects the behavior of self-propelled particles moving through a viscous solvent by employing underdamped version active Ornstein–Uhlenbeck model. consider both potential-free and harmonically confined investigate single-particle trajectories change as drag coefficient is varied. In cases, we obtain matrix correlations between position, velocity, self-propulsion explicit form steady-state probability distribution function. Our results reveal existence marked equal-time velocity force in non-equilibrium steady state. Inertia also time-dependent properties leads to non-monotonic decay two-time correlation functions particle positions velocities. virial pressure harmonic traps changes one goes from overdamped regime. Finally, regime extended case chain interacting via springs.
